Troubleshooting • Re: Problem with gpsfake/gpsd on Raspbian

Hello!

I want to test my software on a Raspberry Pi. Since I don't have actual GPS, I'm using GPSfake utility to simulate real GPS device.
However, on my Rapsbian, when I install gpsd (sudo apt-get install gpsd) I don't have gpsfake tool. It should come as a part of gpsd packet, but it looks like in Raspbian we don't have it.
So, could somebody please advise, how can I get gpsfake to be installed and running on Raspbian?
Thanks in advance!

P.S. my Raspbian version: uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 6.6.20+rpt-rpi-2712 #1 SMP PREEMPT Debian 1:6.6.20-1+rpt1 (2024-03-07) aarch64 GNU/Linux

" my Raspbian version: uname -a

"

That seems contradictory. There has never been a 64-bit architecture version of Raspbian. Or Rapsbian. It is unlikely that there ever will be.

Who says so?

The maintainers of that package for Debian Bookworm do not agree -
https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/ar ... d/filelist

(It was not part of gpsd under Bullseye or Buster either... )

Maybe you need gpsd-clients? https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/ar ... s/filelist
